
TTS agent and Modesto resident, Lee Quigley passed away Wednesday, August 19, after a battle with pneumonia. Lee leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Lynda, two daughters and sons-in-law Carrie and Fred Keyes, Cristie and Scott Castle; and grandchildren, Blake, Ceara, and Sydney.
Born in San Antonio, TX, and raised in Riverbank and Twain Harte, Lee was blessed with two loving foster families, the Briery's and Recek's, to help in his rearing. He is survived by brothers, Frank and Bill (Violet) Quigley, Father Link Briery, brothers Gary (Sharon), Gig (Sammie), and Butch (Sandy) Briery. Brothers Michael, Donald (Rosemary) and David (Ann) Recek, sister Sherry Recek, and 31 nieces and nephews.
Lee graduated from Summerville High School in Tuolumne, attended Stockton College and served in the US Army 12th Engineering Battalion. He lived in Stockton and San Jose before settling in Modesto 38 years ago. For those 38 years he was a self employed businessman in the Modesto area. An active outdoorsman, golfer and community volunteer, Lee was a past president of Modesto Sunrise Rotary and Paul Harris Fellow, Member of Modesto Lodge 206 Free and Accepted Masons, American Legion, Commissioner of Empire Fire District, Director of Stanislaus Consolidated Fire District, a member of Fields Duck Club, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Oakdale Sportsmen's Club, and Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
